Touch
Rugby without the contact.
Same ball. Same passing backwards. Same reading of space. No tackling.
Touch strips rugby back to the parts that decide games. Speed. Evasion. Fitness. Hands. A defender touches you, the ball goes back into play, and it starts again. No rucks, no mauls, no collisions. What is left is a fast, continuous game where the only way through is to be quicker or sharper than the person in front of you.
It rewards the small player. It rewards the player who thinks. It is unforgiving of anyone who stops running.

Centaurs Touch is a competitive side
This is not a training drill. Centaurs Touch trains every Sunday and plays fixtures against other local clubs, in Centaurs kit.
Who it is for
The player who does not want contact. Rugby is not for everyone and it should not have to be. Touch is a serious game, coached properly and played competitively, without a single tackle. A child who loves the sport but not the collisions has a team to play for.
The rugby player who wants to get better. Everything Touch demands turns up again on Sunday. Footwork, support lines, hands under pressure, decisions when you are tired. The best rugby players at Centaurs are the ones who can beat someone in space. Touch is ninety minutes of nothing but that.
Some of our Touch players also play rugby. Some only play Touch. Both work.

Boys and girls, same team
Touch at Centaurs is mixed. Boys and girls train together and play together, in the same squad. That is how the game is played everywhere it is played well.

Coach Fahmy
Touch is run by Coach Fahmy, our professional coach. He also runs the Minis, so he takes the six year olds at half past eight and the sixteen year olds at ten.
